Writing A F***ing Interesting Press Release

Stiff Industry Competition
I've been on the mailing list and getting the newsletter put out by AdultChamber.com for a long time. I'm not an adult webmaster, but I have had one client with a site that wrote reviews of adult pay sites. I treated it like a regular project except that during the keyword research I was keeping all the things I would normally delete and deleting many of the things I would normally keep! I'm sure I cannot compete with other SEOs that work on adult sites, but the results of that one project were satisfying with the client seeing the same kind of traffic increase as other clients do. I think not going after "top rankings" is an advantage in the adult web site industry just as it is in others in terms of cost-effectiveness and stress.

Adult Chamber is a Webmaster Commerce and Resource Center for, you guessed it, webmasters that have adult sites. The newsletter is very professional, and despite the topic I saw only a couple of ads that I would consider x-rated. That's not what the newsletter is about.

Adult Chamber's whole deal is to help adult webmasters with all the issues that are of concern to their industry, finding good affiliate programs, restricting access by minors, fighting fraud, and of course, getting traffic to their sites. I signed up for the newsletter because it had a lot of good information and much of it applies to non-adult webmasters too, and some cannot be easily found elsewhere.

Free Press Release Distribution
What got me writing on this subject is that I got an extra email from them today and in that email was information about their free press release distribution service. Of course, many of you with tame sites may not want to take advantage of this, but if you are sending out press releases or are considering doing so, you may be interested in their approach. They have published a short guide to putting out effective press releases. I've read a number of these kind of guides and articles, but this one is unlike any other that I've seen.

If you are not a sailor or easily offended, you may not appreciate the advice that is offered, but if your skin is a little thicker then you may even find it amusing as I did. Amusing and educational.

Free Sticky Content
They also offer free content for webmasters as well, and this is a selection of RSS feeds you can add to your site. Most of these are on adult topics.

Pixelbay.Org Breaks All the Rules With Microscopic Ads

Pixelbay.Org Breaks All the Rules With Microscopic Ads

Clearwater, FL, (PRWEB) September 28, 2005 -- PixelBay.org, a non-traditional advertising site, which creates internet traffic through the use of the world’s smallest ads, generated a startling amount of consumer interest as throngs of online visitors surged to its site in just the first 24 hours of its operation. Thousands of visitors streamed to www.pixelbay.org after learning about the quirky little ads displayed on the homepage. The site was officially launched on Tuesday, September 27.

Advertiser reaction was just as strong upon learning about how Pixelbay.org intended to draw consumer interest. Within hours of first hearing of Pixelbay’s unique strategy, dozens of companies were scrambling to confirm ad placement on the site. Pixelbay is banking on its relationships with blogs across the world to get its message out about the world’s smallest ad. The story line is simple—world’s smallest ad versus traditional media giants, a true David and Goliath story.

In Touch Media Group, Inc (ITOU—OTCBB), a leading supplier of online marketing services, developed the web site in response to the shift in the internet viewing habits of the public at large. Bob Cefail, Chairman of ITMG, feels that advertising has to change with the times. “I believe we should follow the lead of many bloggers who are attracting viewers through creative and contrarian web site content”, states Cefail. “Advertisers must develop unique ways to compel visitors to come to their sites. This is why I created the world’s smallest ad and am working with the alternative media, such as the blogosphere, to push the word out”. Cefail feels that consumer generated media, led by bloggers, are at the forefront of many internet trends.

The micro-ad design seemingly runs afoul of all accepted laws of advertising. Instead of overpowering consumers with imagery and message the little pixel ads, measuring less than a quarter inch by a quarter inch, attract attention because of their tiny stature. “Advertising in general has gotten far too serious”, warns Cefail. “Advertisers should just lighten up and have some fun with a pixel ad. We even developed a cool mascot we call Mr. Pix, who you can find on the PixelBay homepage”. This playful attitude regarding advertising is what Cefail feels is the difference between In Touch Media Group and its more traditional industry counterparts.

Businesses can advertise on the PixelBay homepage by buying at least one 10x10 pixel block for US $100, which they can use to display an ad or logo, together with a link to their own site. Pixel ads on the site have included a web site promoting an online fantasy game that is a cross between the stock market and a poker game, currency trading software providers, home owner services sites, blogs, and various small businesses.

Pixelbay is just the beginning of In Touch Media’s diminutive ad efforts, pun intended. The company intends to develop other micro-ad sites based on input from individuals involved in the massive multiplayer gaming field. ITOU will be focusing on the needs of internet users ages 18-29 who spend a significant amount of time online. “We have a lot to learn from this generation that lives, breaths and eats technology and all things internet”, concludes Cefail.

HoldenArt, Inc. Announces the Sale of its Patent # 6,783,063 "Technique for Addressing and Tracking in a Delivery System"

HoldenArt, Inc. Announces the Sale of its Patent # 6,783,063 "Technique for Addressing and Tracking in a Delivery System"

HoldenArt, Inc. has decided to sell it’s potentially revolutionary mail related patent. The patent, with 34 claims, promises to add security, privacy, and cure mail-forwarding woes. The patent is on the auction block at eBay, scheduled to close September 30th.

Durango, CO (PRWEB) September 23, 2005 –- The patent involves replacing the traditional address with a single line "Virtual Address." Currently, an optical reader reads a standard address on the envelope at the post office and indexes the corresponding barcode. The barcode is printed on the envelope and is used for sorting and delivery.

The invention allows people to have a permanent "Virtual Address". The VA would be scanned and the corresponding barcode would still be used for sorting and delivery. One’s standard street address can be updated from cyberspace when they move. People can sign-up for a “Virtual Address” voluntarily. The "Virtual Address" would be used to send someone something no matter where they live.

The "Virtual Address" could be (or look similar to) an email address and could easily be spoken and communicated. For example, “JaneBDoe+2345” could be all the information needed to mail something to Jane Doe, wherever she lived.

In addition, the patent allows for a password to be added to the Virtual Address. The password provides some level of security and screening.

“I believe everyone has had an issue with mail-forwarding. You can receive e-mail wherever you go, this would allow you to receive snail-mail, seamlessly, when you move or are away for a period of time,” said HoldenArt, Inc.’s CEO William Holden.

Off the Web and onto the Trade Show Floor

Off the Web and onto the Trade Show Floor

I was just looking over the agenda for the upcoming Medical Design and Manufacturing trade show that will be held here in Minneapolis, Minnesota in November and I noticed something quite interesting:

Find It! No matter how specific your request, find what you need on the show floor using our new "Find It!" search terminals.

For your convenience, there are Find It! Search Stations (powered by Google) located throughout the show floor. Find exactly what you're looking for at MD&M Minneapolis — search by any term, such as product keyword, supplier location, or company name. Print out a list of exhibitors with booth numbers that match your inquiry in any of the co-located shows. No matter how specific your request, find the suppliers you need at MD&M Minneapolis.

I know that Google had been making hardware search products for quite some time, but they seemed quite expensive and limited in scope to searching corporate databases and file systems. This is the first time I had heard of them having something that would have more widespread exposure in the "real world".

I'll check them out when I attend the show and report back if it seems interesting.

Search engines biased toward their own advertisers...?

Since first posting ( 9/14/2005 - Are major search engines going to favor
web sites that carry their ads and hurt those that don't?) about the idea
that some search engines may be favoring sites that carry their own ads,
which was an idea brought to my attention by a site that offers a cloaking
product to hide ad code from search engines, I have been contacted by one
person that has confirmed that it seems like this may be true. They are
going to provide some additional testing and let me know if they can offer
additional evidence.

I'm not going to mention what site this is so that the results of their test
cannot be affected by someone reading about the testing.

If you have seen something like this, either before or after hearing about
it, please let me know so we can increase awareness on this issue.

Thanks,

AzoogleAds Leverages Extensive Customer Base To Launch New Revenue Share Network, MPORT

AzoogleAds Leverages Extensive Customer Base To Launch New Revenue Share Network, MPORT

     Shop.org Conference

New Service Waives Fees Through 2005 and Answers Customer Demand for a More Cost-Effective, User-Friendly Affiliate Marketing Solution Than Currently Available

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 2005-- AzoogleAds, a leader in performance-based online advertising, today announced the launch of its Merchant Portal (MPORT), a revenue share network that provides the technology, tools and intelligence to enable ecommerce merchants of all sizes to cost-effectively generate sales through an extensive affiliate network. The company also announced today that MPORT will be available at no cost to merchants through December 2005, to demonstrate the value of this new service during the holiday shopping season.

"We are launching the MPORT revenue share network to respond to client requests for a network that offers easy navigation, easy account setup, fair pricing, reliable and secure reporting, and most importantly, solid customer support," said Joe Speiser, co-founder of AzoogleAds. "By tapping into our CPA network we've heard and understand the frustrations of both the merchants and the affiliates and we've responded by building a network from the ground up to make affiliate marketing the smooth and efficient process it should be."

AzoogleAds provides merchants with both the control and the support necessary to run the most cost-effective revenue share program possible. Building on AzoogleAds' history of delivering excellent customer service, MPORT customers can access live support via a dedicated phone line at 866-337-7003, as well as online support at help@mport.com.

MPORT includes extensive tracking capabilities and manages the data collection and processing required to ensure fair and timely commission payments for the affiliate, and all of the administration and verification necessary to ensure qualified sales for the merchant. Merchants also have total control via the merchant control panel, which allows them to completely manage all aspects of their programs. As well, merchants have the ability to upload a product feed, which will allow them to display their entire product line to affiliates.

"As with our other cost-per-action programs, MPORT responds to a real need in the marketplace and allows us to be the one-stop destination for online advertising needs," said Alex Zhardanovsky, co-founder of AzoogleAds. "Building on our track record of delivering cost-effective solutions with superior customer support, MPORT is yet another tool for enabling advertisers to better leverage the Internet to build their brands and realize return on their marketing investments."

MPORT rounds out AzoogleAds' online advertising offering which includes a comprehensive set of strategic marketing tools designed to maximize revenues for both advertisers and publishers. Like the AzoogleAds CPA network and its BlueTime ad-serving network, MPORT takes a performance-based approach to ensure the greatest possible return for every advertising dollar.

Blog Spamming or Blog Stuffing?

I'd like to report a blog spammer.... myself! Well, that may not be exactly
the right term, perhaps I should be called a "blog stuffer". I've started
doing this as an experiment to see if I can generate tangible results by the
addition of regular and targeted content. Blogs seem to have a special
charm, but I think it's just that they have a lot of content and that
content is updated on a regular basis.

But I don't think what I'm doing is wrong really, I mean, isn't that what
most people with little writing ability or just nothing to say do? Post
links to sites with content they think is interesting, or post press
releases or articles that someone else wrote? It's filler. it's content.
Distributed content, I guess.

Anyway, after having a blog for over a year and not keeping it up as much as
I should, I've decided to start pumping content in to several blogs that I
have now and see how they work to attract new visitors and start getting a
little more traffic than I have had in the past. Sure, I could just work on
my site directly, but what's the challenge in that? One you have top
listings for all your keywords, the only place left to go is down, right?
:-)

Since I have seen that the more content I have on a site, the better the
traffic level, I'm not really focused on much else for my own sites other
than content collection, processing, and building. The best performing site
I have, www.bizprolink-internet.com has about 7 million expired domain
names, all listed in HTML pages and not a database. This site is currently
eating up about 1GB a day in bandwidth. It would be a great money-maker but
the site is VERY unfocused and there is a high percentage of non-US traffic.
Still, to my it proves what I've long felt, and that is that content is the
most important, long-lasting thing you can have on your site.

[ Note: I decided to publish this item that came in today to demonstrate how pathetic and lame the campaign against Aaron Wall really is. Re-publishing an article by Daniel Brandt from September 20, 2004 shows a real lack of creativity and originality. I won't attempt to address the entire article, but much of what is said, including Daniel Brandt's whining about Aaron Wall's linking to his tool Daniel Brandt makes available, although not in a manner he would like, and his use of Daniel Brandt's name in the posting Aaron Wall made about HIS tool.

Rather than being UPSET that Aaron's site comes up in a search for Daniel Brandt's name, he should be THANKFUL!. At least SOMEONE can make it so his name is found...!

Then he goes on about the domains Aaron has registered and that some are related to the topic of drugs (oh my!), and the fact that Aaron has done quite a substantial job of promoting his site, his book, and his business via his blog, forum activity, and gaining a massive amount of back links. Talking about someone's success in a tone indented to cast doubt and suspicion does not remove the fact of that success. Where is the harm, except to competitors? Where is the breaking of rule or law? Are there customer complaints against Mr. Wall? If so, let them be brought forth, or shut the hell up!

I don't expect this pattern of attacks against Aaron Wall to decrease, but only increase as Traffic Power and their slimy friends respond to the general outpouring of support for Aaron Wall, and the vocal protest against the evil embodied that is Traffic Power and 1p.com. If you have a few bucks after supporting the hurricane relief, please visit Aaron Wall's site at www.seobook.com and donate to his legal fund.]

Escalating Use of Esker on Demand Prompts Esker to Open Additional Mail Processing Facility

MADISON, Wisc.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2005--

New Wisconsin mail house to accommodate soaring demand for service that sends physical mail directly from computer desktop

Esker Software, a leading provider of intelligently automated document delivery solutions and services, announced today that it has opened a new mail house at its U.S. headquarters in response to quickly growing use of its Esker on Demand service. The online document delivery service enables users of both enterprise applications and the most common desktop programs to output their documents to an outsourced postal mail facility, where they are printed, labeled, stamped and sent. The new mail processing facility extends the capabilities provided by the company's existing facility in Lyon, France and its strategic partners in the U.S.

The Esker on Demand service, which also provides automated document reception and delivery via fax and SMS, has surpassed Esker's initial projections and delivered more than five million business documents in the 12 months since its launch, with more than three million sent via postal mail. The service is now used by more than 90 clients on a daily basis, including both large enterprises and smaller companies in service sectors like marketing and real estate.

"We have seen such strong uptake of Esker on Demand across all categories that we felt it critical to invest in our own U.S. facility to accommodate the rising volume of documents we are processing," says Jean-Michel Berard, Esker Software CEO. "Companies are obviously finding that this is an extremely cost-effective way to outsource mail processing, and moreover, that document automation on the whole is removing a real efficiency drain from their operations."

More than two-thirds of the documents handled by the Esker on Demand service have been sent via postal mail, strongly suggesting that postal mail remains the dominant preference for delivery among enterprises and confirming results of a recent Esker survey on document delivery. Postal mail also represents the medium consuming the largest amount of company resources (paper, printer, envelopes, and personnel), another significant factor driving companies to outsource these activities.

About Esker Software

Esker is the intelligent document delivery leader. With software and hosted delivery services to automate every phase and every type of document delivery, Esker helps organizations streamline manual, paper-intensive business processes and automate the flow of documents into, within and outside the organization. Customers gain significant and immediate operational efficiencies, cost savings and measurable ROI in as little as three to six months.

Esker intelligent document delivery solutions include Esker DeliveryWare - a single, universal information exchange platform that captures, formats, converts, routes and stores documents using patented, content-based delivery technology and Esker on Demand - document delivery services enabling physical mail, fax, email and SMS delivery from enterprise and desktop applications with no printers, mailroom equipment, fax machines, office supplies, etc.

Founded in 1985, Esker operates globally and has over 70,000 customers and millions of licensed users worldwide. Esker has global headquarters in Lyon, France and U.S. headquarters in Madison, WI. For more information, visit www.esker.com or www.eskerondemand.com.
